San Kiang Charitable Association Public Lecture
The San Kiang Charity Association in New York, collaborates with ILED LAW GROUP, P.C. to invite Attorney Ran Yanfei from ILED LAW GROUP, P.C. to hold a free legal seminar on "White Card Protection Trust" on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM, explaining how to legally maximize government benefits.
U.S. citizens over the age of 65 applying for Medicaid can attempt to reduce their assets or income below the threshold through reasonable spending, regardless of whether they exceed the asset or income limits. If they do not make reasonable expenditures, applicants over 65 can also choose to join pooled trusts, and the amount placed in the trust will be considered exempt income.
A Medicaid Trust is a trust that holds the assets of individuals preparing to receive Medicaid benefits. Since a Medicaid Trust is an irrevocable trust, the value of the assets within the trust will not be considered as part of the applicant's assets, thus meeting the asset requirements for Medicaid eligibility.
Lawyer Ran Yanfei used storytelling to explain complex legal lectures in a way that was easy to understand for our members and community residents. She discussed how to legally qualify for medical assistance through trusts, as well as the pros and cons, providing great benefits to the attendees. She also answered everyone's questions on the spot.

Thank you to Lawyer Wu Shengyang, Lawyer Shi Min, and Miss Angie from the Alpha Law Firm. Yesterday, they provided a legal public lecture on trusts, protection, and inheritance of property for the community and our fellow villagers from the San Kiang Charity Association . Lawyer Shi Min's professional and easy-to-understand explanations greatly benefited everyone. The lecture achieved excellent results by combining online and offline formats for the first time. The professionalism, efficiency, and good service of Lawyer Wu Shengyang's team received unanimous praise from the community, including international students and their parents.

On Sunday, August 13, a series of legal lectures officially commenced, jointly organized by the SanKiang Charity Association in New York and Attorney Wu Shengyang from the Alpha Law Firm. These lectures will be held regularly and will mainly focus on topics of concern to the community and society. Attorney Wu Shengyang and the Alpha Law Firm have consistently cared for and assisted the Chinese community, helping many Chinese individuals and international students with legal issues during the pandemic over the past few years, receiving widespread acclaim.
This lecture will be held both online and offline simultaneously, and a QR code for the online session will be sent out later. The main topics will focus on safety, especially how to prevent personal information theft and how to mitigate losses after a theft occurs. Additionally, there will be discussions on how to prevent sexual harassment, the consequences of harassing others, and issues related to renting.

Starting from April, our San Kiang Charitable Association, will collaborate with our long-term legal advisor, Attorney Wu Shengyang from Alpha Law Firm (a lawyer challenging the "WeChat" ban, recipient of the New York Legal News Public Welfare Award, and ranked among the top 100 personal injury lawyers in the United States) to hold various themed legal seminars on an irregular basis. The audience will primarily consist of our large membership, with the main goal of cultivating our legal awareness and helping everyone understand how to use the law to defend their rights.
